Creative Entrepreneur 2014 is staged at MediaCityUK – based in Salford Quays and considered to be one of the most innovative places in Europe today. Some of the UK’s digital big hitters are resident here, including The BBC and ITV. The University of Salford’s space is in the first three floors of the building pictured below. ITV are also located in the building. Next door are the BBC’s buildings. The University’s MediaCityUK building is a state of the art teaching, research and exhibition space housing over 1500 creative and media staff, students and researchers. The ground floor contains a state of the art exhibition and performance space known as the Egg.


TRAVEL TO MEDIACITYUK

  • Car – Parking is available in the Lowry Outlet Mall car park or the MediaCityUK car park, but is chargeable. If you are using Sat Nav the postcode is M50 2EQ.
  • Bus – If you are travelling from the University campus you can catch the number 9 bus from Salford Crescent train station, which will drop you off right outside MediaCityUK. This is a free bus service for University staff and students, simply show your ID card when boarding the bus
  • Metrolink – You can use either the MediaCityUK line for a direct service, or the Eccles line and alight at Harbour City and it is a five minute walk to the venue.

The Egg at the University of Salford is part of the Orange Tower on MediaCityUK complex, opposite ‘The Green’, the grassed area of MediaCityUK. The entrance to the building is at the side of the tower and accessable via the alley to the left of Prezzo’s restaurant.
