Alison Mckenzie-Folan is Deputy Chief Executive and part of the Senior Management Team at Wigan Council with strategic responsibility for a range of services including policy, strategy and transformation, public relations, public service reform, programme office, intelligence unit, revenues, benefits and rent collections, cultural strategy, customer services, libraries and heritage, ICT and HR and OD.
Alison is currently leading the #digitalwigan strategy which has been awarded LGC Digital Council of the Year 2016 and Digital Leaders 2016 Digital Council of the Year. She is passionate about collaboration, technology and inspiring the next female generation.
Previous to this role, Alison was Head of HR & OD for Wigan Council and also the Interim Director of HR & OD for NHS Ashton, Leigh and Wigan PCT. She joined local government in 2008, after a career in central government culminating in roles as Deputy Director Finance and Deputy Director HR for the Health & Safety Executive.
She has extensive experience in business transformation and organisational development with a passion for improving services for residents and customers.
Alison is also a Board Member at Unify Credit Union and deputy spokesperson for SOLACE on the digital agenda. She was in the Northern Power Women Top 50 Power list 2017 and more recently named as one of the nine most influential digital leaders in Greater Manchester
